[SOLVED] A good budget cpu for RX570

I am looking for a budget cpu(preferably AMD) for a RX570. My budget is 120 dollars for the CPU.

An R5 1400 would run well with that GPU, and is priced accordingly on eBay. It is not the chip the i3 linked above is but would offer a great deal of upgradability with the right 400 series board. For instance, the B450 Tomahawk is a great board and offers support for 1st gen Ryzen. Then with a BIOS update you could upgrade all the way to 5xxx Ryzen.

If you were to pick a decent B560 motherboard to go with the i3 you would be able to upgrade up to the i9 10900k or i9 11900k in the future.

You would not be able to run the newly released 12th generation cpus, however.

I would pick the i3 10100f or 10105f over something like a used Ryzen 5 1400 for sure. It's several years newer and performs better, however AMD platform would have a better upgrade path to a 16 core

The 10400/10400F (6C/12TH) would be an excellent choice, I have seen it on amazon for under 160 USD. It's worth stretching a bit for even 2 extra cores for only 40 USD more on your budget.
