i just found out a store not far from my place sell a xeon E5 2660 retail only 80 US dollar. plus a mother board 240 dollar. should i buy it. or use that 320 dollar to buy a i5 7500 and a B250 motherboard?

My main game is a web game. and i have many account. it would be nice if i can open all of them at once.

My computer now is G3258 run at 3,8Mhz, 8G Ram and a Gtx 650 1GD5. I can only open 3 or 4 tab and the CPU will run at 100% whole time.

If you have to buy a whole new system I suggest you wait for the Ryzen 3 series. I am unsure of the 1151's future given its already on 2nd gen cpu which is all Intel usally supports. Intel is already coming with 2066 Z299 with 7640k, 7740, and 6~12 core skylake-x. Also cannonlake is a new Z370 of unknown pin count.

If you just buy an i5 this one is only reasonable price I can find for your 1150 motherboard.

The E5 2660 is an 8 core but very slow being only 2.2Ghz and older sandybridge. I would suggest any current cpu given the speed. For games the G3258 would be as fast for games. You could get an i7 4790k for your 1150 motherboard instead.

Well. the thing is my friend want a 2nd computer for just play league of legend and facebook. And my computer now is enough for him. so he asked me if i would sell it to him.
Then, if i sell my computer now. i need to buy whole thing to build new one. except monitor. i have 2 of them. and except the VGA, dont know how he dont have a computer but still got a gt730 2GD5 in his hand.

So my question is with about 300~350 dollar. what main + CPU should i buy? new or old?

my other option is G4560 + a 1151 main + vga 1060 3G. all new. a bit more than 350 dollar, should i?

I think that multicore of 2660 is good for multitab of my web game, am i right? as 1 tab actually is 1 chrome.exe

anyway thank you. if he dont buy it. i will upgrade my CPU only. but i7 is really expensive for me lol. so i will buy an i5 instead. then save some money for a vga 1060 or upgrade 2x4G to 2x8G RAM next month.
And my mainboard now is Gigabyte B85M HD3 rev 2. it should enough to handle i5 or i7?
dont worry about PSU. i have good one lol
