A good GPU for phenom x3 8600b??

I wanna add a GPU to my old HP machine and i was wondering what is the best GPU for it without bottlenecking by the cpu ..thanks
I have :
Phenom x3 8600b 2.3ghz
4gb of DDR2 memory
250gb hard drive
integrated ati 3100 graphic
300w PSU

Yeah, obviously it doesn't have to be a low profile card for a mini/micro tower. But that will still be fine as long as it comes with a full height bracket.

I had it on my aging Phenom X3 8650/Biostar A760G-M2+ and it performed pretty good. But old HPs are notorious for not playing nice with modern cards.

I also have an old (but good condition) HD 3870 I'm selling on ebay. If interested, PM me. It also worked well at med settings.
 


Probably better chance of it playing nice with the old HP. The problem as I understand it, is the newer cards' uefi BIOS not interfacing properly with the older legacy BIOS of older PCs. HPs especially.
But unless you have a slimline case, you don't need a low profile card. What HP PC do you have?
