a gtx 960 worth it?

good day sirs!

I currently have an i3 4170 with an msi 750 ti with 8gb ram.

Im planning to buy a gtx 960 but have no plans yet for buying a new cpu.

will the said cpu work with the 960? can it play the coming 2016 high end games like doom 4?

im worried that the 960 will cannot be at its full potential when working with an i3. if having to buy 960 means upgrading my cpu then i'll just have to stick with my 750 ti.

Well, first, a R9 380 is a better option. Second, your CPU won't bottleneck the R9 380 or GTX 960.
