Hi
Today I saw an Advertisement of gtx 1080 ti at around 300$ I contacted the guy on whatsapp, His number does not belong to my country, I asked him why is he selling it very cheap?, he told me He's a Youtuber he has got it from sponsers, And cant reveal his identity, And he's asking to pay it in paypal, He told me that paypal is secure
He says paypal gives buyer's protection,
And I don't have any GPU right now
And if he's not faking it and I ignore I might lose a great deal
Is it safe to buy from him?

Solution
Most likely a scam.

Why? Because:

- Another country (not local number)

- A suspicious story about "youtuber" who can't reveal identity. If he is a youtuber, he would love to share his channel with you.

- Too good to be true pricing.

If it was true, the card has probably seen some things otherwise it would not be so cheap. It would only be this cheap if he was in dire need of cash and the story he gave does not corroborate this. Run away as fast as possible imo.

Solution
no, it’s likely a fraud.

The card is likely broken or a different card with 1080ti fanshroud or a mining cards. Think about this, You can sell any good condition 1080 ti for 400 or more easily at local area, unless he lives in the North Pole and has penguins for neighbour why would he do that? I would suggest you no, don’t do it.

$300 for a 1080Ti, yeah that's a scam.
