A Half-Formed Idea

A quote from Oliver Stone's film "Platoon" set me thinking:

"Somewhere out there's the Beast, and he's hungry tonight."

So! A World of Darkness game, perhaps, about soldiers in the Vietnamese jungle
encountering a mystical personification of violence and evil. For added
complexity, have its identity explicable by more than one religion, and have
those religions represented among the troops (even if it's only "My gramma used
to tell me a story . . .").

Ah, one thing worth beginning,
One thread in life worth spinning,
Ah sweet, one sin worth sinning
With all the whole soul's will

I think "Run through the Jungle" by Creedence Clearwater Revival is a
must for the game night soundtrack:

I thought it was a nightmare
But Lord, it's all so true
They told me, "Don't go walkin' slow-
The devil's on the loose..."

Better run through the jungle...

Over on the mountain
Thunder magic spoke:
"Let the People Know My Wisdom.
Fill the Land with Smoke."

Better run through the jungle...
No, don't look back to see.

I thought the quote went "In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps
tonight".

Been there, done that, put it in the games to play in the future when people
feel like it folder...
Sigh...

It wasn't platoon that inspired me though... it was after a whole night of
beer, philosophy, theology, Full Metalj Jacket and Apocylpse Now Redux...
don't ask...

Is this any good? I have great faith in Pinnacle (and Teller 😉) but i'm
still not sure about biting into Savage Worlds...
