So recently I've just built a PC and there was a hang in the boot screen when I rarely use it or at random times. I had to unplug my PC and switch it on again in order to run as per normal. Is there any solution that could resolve this? Replies are well appreciated :)

This are my PC specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B75M-D3V
Processor: Intel i5-3470 @ 3.2 GHz
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2x 4Gb DDR 3 1600 Mhz
Video Card: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti DDR5 1024Mb
Storage: 250Gb HDD
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Sorry, I meant by not using it that often.

PSU : FSP HEXA 500W

Does it work if you power off the PSU for several seconds and then power it on again instead of unplugging it?

The fact that you need to unplug the PSU leads me to believe that it could be the issue. Your PSU is a decent unit, but even the best can have issues. Ideally you'd try another PSU (borrow one if need be) before replacing the motherboard, etc.

Yup, it still works fine after that.
