Hello,

I've got a huge problem with my new PC :pfff: I've assembled everything and then problem appeared.
I connected two monitors to the graphics card (used all cables that I have on both of them and no results) then I turned my PC on. Monitors doesn't show anything except 'No signal detected'. Next to the processor there is a red diode on. I've checked everything two times and it seems to be alright. I have no clue where the problem is. Can anyone give me some suggestions please?

That's the PC: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/bJc7nQ

Thanks a lot.

Solution

As long as you have standoffs that stop the motherboard from actually touching the side of the case it should be fine.

Look at the motherboard's manual to see what the red diode might mean. Maybe something's not connected to your motherboard properly and your motherboard isn't getting the power it needs (Your power supply is more than you need to power your pc). Check this link, might be helpful

Did you plug in everything to you graphics card? I think the GTX 770 needs at least 1 6 pin power connector, maybe an 8 pin too.

Also, have you tried booting up first using onboard graphics?

That's the photo of the red diode. It's located next to the 'CPU_LED' blank.

The red diode

There is another question, what about locating motherboard too close to the side of the case? Maybe that's the problem?

Photo of it: Motherboard from the side

I've checked the manual and I couldn't find any handy informations.

THANKS ALL OF YOU FOR ANSWERS!!!

P.S. What about this communicate on the pcpartpicker.com 'Compatibility Notes
Some Intel X79 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Ivy Bridge-E CPUs.'?

My friend took my graphics card and tried it with his PC, it works perfectly without problems, so it cannot be that, also I couldn't find handy informations about the red diode.

Thanks

The red LED means that the CPU is the problem - try reseating the CPU as that may solve the problem.

Solution
Your motherboard needs a BIOS update before you can use your CPU likely. You should have bought X99 motherboard or made sure that your current one already contains the latest BIOS.

Usually, the only remedy is to use an older CPU supported by your motherboard's BIOS and then flash new BIOS, then swap CPUs.

Luckily, your ASUS motherboard supports USB Flashback feature, which means you can flash your BIOS without need for an older CPU. Read the manual for this feature: usually your mobo will have a dedicated USB port just for this purpose. You need an USB stick, download the latest BIOS for your motherboard on some other computer, then plug it into this dedicated port to flash.

I gonna try it as the second option. First of all I need to take screws off and replace them by standoffs. If that's not going to help then I gonna update bios as you said. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Thanks for your help guys, the problem was with the case. The motherboard was assembled too close to the side of the computer case. I used standoffs this time and it works, also I didn't have to update BIOS.

Thanks again.

Good to hear :)
