A little bit thermal compound on the green side of the cpu

So when I re-installed my 212x a little bit mx-4 spilled out on the green side of my cpu (while it was in the socket) do i need to clean it really ?
*PC is working well !

Normally I'd say that's not very good at all, and don't put it in the socket in the fear it may damage the pins. In fact, I'll still say that. You need to go back and try to remedy the situation without damaging the pins of the CPU.

Yea I cleaned most of it already
