hi there I currently have a gtx 680 sc sig 2 and im playing a single 1080p monitor. I was thinking about go to a 3 way monitor setup but im just really confused about what im reading. some say sli 680 are good for 3 way, then some say there not then if I add a third gtx it would get worse? I really want to try NVidia surround but with all this information contradicting itself I feel like its not worth the risk of 2 more monitors and another 680. if anyone can help with this I would greatly appreciate it. also in terms of resolution I would like to max most games out but would be alright with high settings as well and doesn't have to 60 fps I cant tell the difference 40 and 60 anyways but I wanted to kinda "future proof" it as much as possible 2 yrs atleast might be pushing it but greatly in need of some advice/help. my specs are, if you want to know :
cpu-i5-3570k
Mem- g.skill x series 8gb
psu- xfx pro series 1050w (overkill now but got it for NVidia surround)
mobo- p8z77-v
my system is also water cooled cpu, gpu, mobo.
thanks in advance for helping

ok so what about 3? might get a 3rd one for Christmas, is adding a 3rd one make it bad? or worse than 2? I don't understand how adding gpu's makes the performance worse? so I will be quite happy with 2 680's at high to max settings?

Stick with 2, if you need more performance, then add another. That said, the 680 2gb SLI setup can possibly run low on vram, but only with high levels of AA. You'll likely have to lower the AA anyways for general performance, but with 3, that becomes something to watch for.
