A little help before i install windows 10

Ok, so i want to go to windows 10,but should i make a restore point first and or back up my pics,files ect. just in case? If anyone can give me some pointers....in do's and don'ts. Oh yeah i have windows 7 now.

If you'll be just be doing update to Windows 10 better make sure to back up all your files first because there are some who had issues updating to Windows 10 where they get stuck on the update and the only way to solve it was to reinstall Windows. If you'll be updating to Windows 10 as well and you've successfully finish the update, make sure to check Windows Update again for the latest build for Windows 10 that's more stable since it still has a lot of bugs.

Regardless of if you are going up to win 10 - it is wise to back up your pics and important files to another medium / spare drive on a regular basis anyway! As for WIN 10 - I put it off until this month and have had no problems whatsoever. It also seems to be a bit faster doing most things!
 


Garryyash, I never done this before,do it make restore point so i can go back to a earlier date? because my laptop is about 6 years old,and it didn't come with a cd for windows. its a toshiba satellite L505D-S5983.thank you.
