I have an HP desktop with an I3-8100 / uhd 630 and I want to pair it with a larger TV. The output port is identified as HDMI 1.4/HDCP 2.2 per literature here; https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05991291

The research I've done suggests I'm probably limited to a 1080p 60hz display. Unfortunately for me, most new TVs are 4k. If I purchase a 2160p 60hz tv - will I be able to use it as a monitor. Would my new tv be able to display a 1080p 60hz signal or must I hunt down an older television on craigslist? If the new TV would work as a display, would I still benefit from a clearer picture and text with a proper 1080p 60hz TV?

Thanks a bunch for your input and suggestions.

New TVs will generally take a 1080p 60Hz signal even if they are 4K TVs.
I would check the specs first though just to be sure.

"
would I still benefit from a clearer picture and text with a proper 1080p 60hz TV?"

I don't think the benefit would be much if any.
