A little help with my first gaming PC

For a while now I've been wanting a gaming PC. I would like to play games like battlefield on high settings. For Christmas my mom even got me farcry 3 for PC. I want a computer under 600-700 dollars(cheaper if possible), that is fast, quite, powerful and upgradable. I don't really want liquid cooling but something with good airflow. At first I was looking into buying, such as a dell xps 8500. But I know will regret it, but I need a little help.

I want a computer with an Intel CPU, Nvidia geforce gtx, 1 tb, 8gs of ram, good power supply and anything else needed. But I'm just a bit lost using a Mac for five years. I also want to use it to make animations and render. Can anyone help me?

Also, some people say there are better deals to buy in January, it that true?

Check out microcenter, newegg, and ncix. Also look at Tom's reviews on parts and the cpu and gpu hierarchy charts. I would recommend boosting your price cap by 300.00 also, as to build a quality gaming pc. It's less expensive in the long term.

you can try these parts: i5 3570k, ASRock z77 extreme4, asus geforce gtx 660, corsair vengance ram, a 500w psu. Preferably rated at 80 plus bronze or higher. Any seagate or western digital harddrive will do.
Later when more funds are available look into getting an ssd or two.
