A lot of processes and some viruses.

Hi the laptop belongs to my mom it is a vista. She hasn't cleaned it in a long time she just downloads without really looking at what she downloads. I ran Malwarebytes and Avast. Malwarebytes deleted a bunch of viruses. Then Avast deleted a bunch of viruses. If you have used Avast and its boot time scan it showed me a infected file.

Also I ran hijack this to show you all the processes the laptop runs slow and it shouldn't have 80 processes running.


for some reason I cannot log into my account on that laptop after I have logged it out here. Second I tried getting the Hijackthis log with a usb but it loads with weird symbols even though it is txt file.

Wait, I'm sorry - what exactly is the problem? You aren't able to log into the laptop after you deleted processlogger.exe?

All that the warning about PUP means is that it's a potentially unwanted program - not that it's for-sure a virus.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Seriously. Reinstall from scratch. And change all her passwords. All of them.

The problem is there are so many processes running that it is slowing down the PC. I need to remove them but I don't know which processes are useless.

Vista - bad
Multiple viruses - bad
Remaining viruses - probable

Nuke that puppy and put Win7 on it.
And change those passwords!
