I have a server where the Supermicro Nidec Ultraflo CPU fan was constantly cycling up and down ever few seconds. Unfortunately, the motherboard's IPMI settings didn't allow for fan adjustments or thresholds to be set. Since its a 2" fan and since I had a few 2" Noctura NF=A6x25 fans on hand, I swapped out the Supermicro CPU fan. With the Notura the cycling issue is gone, the server is now finally relatively silent.

My question, As I just switched out the fans a few minutes ago, does anyone see a detriment to keeping the Noctura fan in place for cooling the servers CPU? Should I replace the Noctura fan with a replacement Supermicro fan?
