So I'm going to upgrade my pc but i can't seem to find a micro-ATX that'd have 2 GPU slots for a possible second GPU (Nvidia), support 1866mhz RAM and have an LGA 1150 socket.
Thanks for any recommendations.

What about these three then ...

MSI Z97M Gaming

Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming

Asus Maximus VII Gene

It would a bit of a waste of time making these three to support SLI/Crossfire if you couldn't fit two GPUs in there, wouldn't it.

I will say one thing about the m-ATX boards and crossfire - much depends on exactly where you need to place that last x8 slot. If it's in position 4 (bottom most furthest away from the CPU, sometimes depending on how the heat sink and fan is shaped, you -could- have some minor interference if you have to utilize some of the USB or AUDIO headers. The GA-Z97MX-Gaming5 though avoids that since of the 4 slots, the x8/x8 configuration is slots one and three (starting from the CPU socket).

it's ok, i'm sure he did not mean anything malicious by it. not exactly a bad assumption considering the small size of the mobo. my question is usually, what mini case has room for dual gpu's? kind of the point of mini itx is the small case. will such a case that might have room also have the airflow to keep 2 gpu's cool enough as well as a cpu?

those really are more my questions about the idea. if dual gpu's is the goal, i;d think a mid tower or bigger would be a better way to do it and still be comfortable doing it.

Well, he didn't specify a particular case, but he did specify a m-ATX board. As mentioned, the Gigabyte Gaming 5 mATX has both the proper spacing for a dual-GPU build AND if the case will handle a mATX board then it WILL work as a dual-GPU mATX mobo supporting 1866mhz DDR3 as he requested.

As to why the OP picked an obviously erroneous answer as 'best answer' who said it doesn't exist when it clearly DOES exist is beyond me.

Here's the link for the GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5. Read the specs and tell me that it doesn't.

i think you got me wrong here!! i am not saying they don't exist. as you can see my post was right after the first one and i clearly state they do exist and linked to a list of models available.

not sure why i have offended you so. i am not defending boosted1g, i am just saying that his mistake was not a dedicated ploy to somehow screw up the op's life. was just an honest mistake that can be made when assuming too much.

clearly they do exist and clearly the post is wrong. but what do you accomplish by bashing the guy in the head with it? i'm sure he read the responses and now realizes the mistake and won't make it again. we win YAY!!! here's your cookie. :)

edit: and i don't see any answer selected as best answer. not sure where you are seeing this.....

I know, I was just responding and clarifying that he spec'd an mATX board and you were talking about an ITX case or board... typo?

OOhhh. I like cookies. Best be a chocolate chip! :) Sorry if i came across harsher than I intended. I've been busy the last week fighting with my media server (lost 6TB of movie/tv shows. 🙁 🙁 🙁 ) and it's made me a little grumpy. Lol.

i do tend to just use micro and mini itx as the same thing when they are actually different specs. something i need to work on :)

but i still wonder what small form case will fit 2 gpu's in it. there are a lot of them now that will fit a full sized gpu which is nice but i have not seen one that fits 2 of them (though i have not looked very hard for this particular set-up)

either way, i think the op has the info he needs and hopefully can make a solid choice from what has been offered.

and sadly i only have some fresh snickerdoodles to offer. choco chip don't last long in my house so your a bit late for those 😀
