Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum... and this is my first post :)

I'm gonna buy a new CRT monitor. I'm a graphic designers so I need a monitor able to display 1600 x 1200 at 100hz, so that I can work on A3 pages.

these models look very interesting:

Eizo T966
LaCie electron22Blue IV
Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB
Iiyama Vision Master Pro 514

could you tell me which one is best for Graphic design?

thank you,

ciao!

Well, I can't speak to the other models but the Mitsubusi, although very well made, is going to have two black lines across the screen you won't be able to get rid of no matter what you do... Trinitron and Diamondtron picture tubes both do this. the line is about 1 pixel at 1280x1024, and at 1600 x 1200 it will be easy to mistake it for a line in your work.

You may want to consider staying away from monitors with these picture tubes...

Also, read the other stuff in this forum. Of late there's been a lot of discussion about how to buy, what to avoid and the problems people can run into...

Thank you Teq for your reply,
I knew about the black lines, and well... I can live with them (currently I'm using a Sony trinitron monitor and I think the black lines are ok).

But I just can't get any useful info about the Eizo or latest Diamond Pro based CRT monitors 🙁

ciao!

Again, can't help you with Eizo... never heard of them.

The poop on Mitsubushi and NEC is here:
