A new gaming laptop

Hi, I am buying a new laptop. I ve asked on other forums and I was given one answer, so I m posting here to get more opinions. I have been going through reviews and specs and in the end I m down to:

Acer Aspire VX15 ~1222 $ (i5 7300hq, GTX 1050 Ti, 8gb 2133 RAM)
MSI GE62VR 6RF ~1528 $ (i7 6700hq, GTX 1060, 16gb 2133 RAM)
MSI GE62VR 7RF ~1528 $ (i7 7700hq, GTX 1060, 8gb 2400 RAM)
- the prices are the way they are. Reasons.

Can you guys advice on the build quality, display quality etc?
For what it seems, the 25% extra budget would mean ~25% extra FPS concerning the GPUs. I am unsure regarding the RAMs and CPUs... if it makes sense to go for the more expensive MSI. And if so, should I get the better CPU or the more RAM one?

I wouldnt mind getting a new laptop in 2 - 3 years and I play on 1080p, World of WarCraft only. I dont do any video editting.

From what I was told, the i5 and 1050 Ti is far better than ok for my needs and would be capable of decent FPS as long as the laptop "survives" - 2 or 3 years.

to be honest for 2-3years the 1050ti wont serve u well in triple AAA games.but if u are only playing wow then yeah it should serve u well for more than that.

the gtx 1060 is waaaaay faster than the 1050ti so u can scratch the 1050ti off the list if budget doesn't concern you.pretty sure the 1060 is going to serve you better for the long run.the 1060 is identical or not better in term of peformance to the gtx 980 and the 1050ti is the same as a gtx 680/960.there is no significant performance difference between the 6700 and the 7700hq(maybe less power draw on the kaby lake and 10% better).the 2nd choice should serve u well since it comes with the extra ram.u might not need it now but it will come in handy especially for future titles and since game nowadays tend to use more system ram.(8gb use to be the standard before).

Budget is a bit of an issue, in a way that I dont want to spend more than needed. If the Acer would be enough for 2 -3 years of gaming and is solid build with a good display, I would probably go for that.

it depends if u want to play new and upcoming titles smoothly.i have the acer but the i7 model and with the ips screen,its not bad and peformance wise its pretty decent for 2017.but not as good as my v17 nitro with the 1060.i say $300 more for an i7 and gtx 1060 is a good deal.not to mention the gpu is VR ready.if u are budget constrain and didnt care much about future games then i suggest looking for the same acer model with the 1050 or the new dell inspiron with the same i5 and gtx 1050.it will cost less than the 1050ti.

I think I will go see them in person.
1050 and 1050 Ti is a big difference in FPS for not much extra budget. The 1060 however is a way bigger step. I d need to see the display and build quality to decide for sure. Thanks for the answers :)

a tip thought,since i had tonnes of experience with mulitple gaming notebooks(alienware,msi,asus,acer,clevo) acer in my opinion still need to fix/improve their cooling solution.temps can get pretty high and usually u will need to tweak/undervolt the cpu to keep temp at bay even with a high end thermal paste.

I got to the shop yesteray.
I had only 10 mins and I saw only the cheap version of VX15 with 1050, but the display was quite bad. I read somewhere only 1050 Ti version has the IPS pannel, I ll have to check next time.

Generally speaking, gaming laptops are much less sturdy than I remember them a few years ago. I was quite surprised.

Those are around 2000 dollars here.

I still dont think I ll get any use of 1060 until two years later, which is when I can get a new laptop.
I am thinking hard but it all comes down to how the prices will be at the end of July (its going down a bit these days) and mainly on the quality of the specific pieces when I get to the shop. New releases soon too, that s a bit terrifying... getting a laptop to see a new line in the middle of August.

whats your currency btw?well its up to you then.if u think of replacing your laptop after 2 years then go ahead and get the acer.however if u are planning to sell them back in 2 years time the acer will diminish in value quiet drastically.

i dont know what laptop u are using that can only lasy that long.unless u didnt properly took care of it(no maintenance,no repasting).i have a few older gaming notebook like the aw mx11 r2,m17x r4 ,rog g75,g55,msi gt72dx which is more than 3=4 years already and still running strong.my 1st vnitro with a gtx 860m is almost 3 years now and still going strong.so yeah if you are good care taker they will take care of you.( i have none of my laptop die on me even the notorious lenovo y500 and y50)

My friend had 3 laptops so far (I never had a gaming one, always desktop) and after 3 years it was very overheating and sound crashing, screens turning off. He carried it around a lot and every day he did 20 kms on a bicycle, so perhaps that might have been the issue.
