A Question About Refreshing My Pc

Im having a lot of trouble with windows 8.1 at this point and would like to use the refresh option but have a few questions. I have windows installed on an ssd with a few other applications and a secondary hard drive with most of my other things. If i refresh my pc should i unplug my second hard drive? I had it unplugged during my windows installation so i was wondering if this should be done. Will i lose all of my systems settings or will windows restore them? Im talking about how i have my documents folder on my SSD drive really just be a path to my secondary drives documents file so nothing gets stored on the SSD,

I have seen this, but this does not answer my question as to whether or not i should unplug my secondary drive.

for the 16min you were waiting for an answer, you could have just shut down the pc and unplug the HDD.

I would make sure your backed up then unplug before your refresh.
