Entrance. Immediately past the exit to the water.

I usually just killed my way in, rather than worry about unreliable
invisibility, but I have heard that with judicious use of IVU and Invis
you can make your way on through. This would require a decent supply of
IVU potions though I expect. Can't say as I blame you though, there are
better places more suited to a druid.

A question... where'd the atrium? Another task talks about going to
the first or third dead trees in the atrium. The one map I have lists
mob locations, but nothing like "the atrium." I may have gone right
past it and not known it.

It's really not as complicated as it sounds. You won't die if IVU
drops since most of the mobs you have to get through are in their 40s
and won't be bunched together. You can usually get to a safe spot if
you see your IVU fading and if not you might have to kill a mob or
two before heading on. At 65, I don't think you even need to use a
regular invis past the golems, you can hug the wall and not get agro.
So IVU to the golems, run to shop and IVU through the shop to the
dropoff. Then you pretty much have to start fighting since that
roaming hand can see through IVU.

Once there, any 65 can pull singles. Not sure whether it's worth going
to these days, the days when a 2 or 3 person group could make 10-15k
an hour there were over when GoD came out with decent tradeable gloves
for chain and plate wearers.

I'm a cleric and can get to the highborn area with 2 casts of ITU and one
normal invis pot.
Entrance to golems = itu x 1;golems area = invis pot; golems to highborn = 1
itu cast.
More of the area past the golems is safe with ITU. Theres a few mobs that
are live. I thing there's a hand like the one found in Unrest and also a
room of live mobs somewhere. (it's been a while)
Just con each mob that doesn't look like the standard undead mob model for
veksar and you'll be safe enough.

Not sure off the top of my head, I would look around the area where the
golems are for starters anyway.

Isn't it right by the entrance where the tree thingies are? The first
big room before you enter the tunnels?

rofl - point taken. But, what I was trying to convey: When you first
swim into veksar and then run down the steps - isn't that an atrium of
sorts?

This was pretty much the same as I did, invised going in, up the ramp,
itu, at the entrance to the golems, another invis... that's about as
far in as I went though.

I must not have been to that part of Veksar yet. My itu dropped and I
was swarmed on the spot. It happened so fast I thought something had
seen through it, but scrolling back afterward, it had indeed dropped
first.

This is kind of what I would have thought, however, running all over
the friggin' room and visiting every tree doesnt seem to complete the
task. The assignment even says something to the effect of "blah blah
blah and visit the first dead tree in the atrium, just inside the
entrance." Of course, I've seen "just inside the entrance" before, and
it is an obvious cop-out. Just inside the entrance to what? The zone?
I'm underwater, no atrium there, for sure. up the first ramp and into
the "courtyard?" That's what I would have thought, logically... no
responses. Up the next ramp and into the entrance of the castle? Well,
there's no atrium inside the entrance there, either, just undead.
Maybe it's just broken, or I'm not hitting the right spot out in the
initial courtyard, I dunno.

sure enough, I just went <back> in, and it's the big tree in the
middle. Last time I was there, nothing registered, and I was all over
that area... I specifically even remember running right up to the base
of the damn tree, and nothing. Suddenly, a patch, and it works.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. This probably means the "visit the
third tree" is probably in there too... another that wouldn't work.

Interesting. If they're patching Tasks, I wonder if the "sathirian
protectors" now exist in DL. I had a task that called for killing
10 of them, but I ran a circuit that I was confident covered the
entire zone (including caves off the edges) within my tracking range,
and found no such mob. (And it's not listed on Alla, either.) I asked
a guide, and was told to /bug it, which I did.

Too bad I already ditched that task so I could work on a different one.

I'll try tracking any on my next pass through and see. Have you
checked to see if they're listed on the allakhazam bestiary? As
expected, the "visit the second tree," and "visit the third tree, (in
the golem area) " worked fine too. These three tasks have been the
most popular ones, and the "visit the second tree" was the only one I
ever got to work, about six weeks back.

Thanks. My tracking range is only a bit over half the north/south
extent of the zone, so I have to run across it twice to check. If
you have a ranger you can probably check a lot more easily.

I did look on Allakhazam when I first ran into the problem on the
task, and came up blank. Indeed, a full Google search turned up
only one mention of the mob, and it was on the EQforums where some
other poor sap was complaining about not being able to find it. 🙂
