Hello, I have a very short question ask. I've done some research and I am looking at a new graphics card. I have asked once, and someone told me a R7 260X would work. However, we just had a power surge and I had to replace my air conditioner and I have to go with a cheaper option. I just want to clarify if the parts I have are compatible with this card (http://tinyurl.com/o43tsx6). My PC currently has 4 gb ram, an AMD Athlon II X4 640 with integrated graphics (ATI Radeon 4200). My Mobo has 1 pci-express x16 slot and a 250W psu. I am aware the PSU is low, so I am upgrading that to a 430W.

So, my question is, will the GPU I provided work with my current processor, and if not, would a standard 250 work instead such as this one (http://tinyurl.com/pw5vts8) Also, this might be a really stupid question, but the first link is a dual slot GPU, and my case only has 3 small single slot gpu holders (Not sure on name). Would that prohibit me from using the first card?

Thanks in advance, Mike.

Solution
Nvidia always recommends a 300W as minimum for their cards. But from my own experience, a 240W PSU can handle the added 25W load (at max usage) of the GT 730.

But there's no sense getting the GT 730 if you plan on upgrading the PSU right away as you stated. I've run a R9-270 on an inexpensive Rosewill ARC 450W PSU with no problems.
Neither of those cards would be recommended with a tiny 240W PSU, I'm afraid. Something like the GT 730 would the max I'd recommend with the small PSU.

If you get a GOOD QUALITY 430W PSU, then you can use either the 250 or the 250X. And bigger when finances allow.

Thank you so much for the response, but when I said I was upgrading the PSU I was going to do that at the same time, sorry if I was unclear. I'm purchasing a Corsair 430W 80 bronze Certified psu

Thank you, however, since we were on the discussion of a 730 without having to upgrade my PSU, I was looking at the requirements to run this : http://tinyurl.com/pg62oqr . The requirements state I need a 300W psu, but would the 240W Psu hurt the card at all? I have an extra 250W psu also, if that makes the difference with the card. The TDP on my GPU is ~95W, so I think I'll be able to use it without upgrading my PSU.

Thank you so much for the quick response back. I really appreciate the help you gave me. I'm getting an Sapphire R7 250 2GB DDR3 and the CX 430W. I am very thankful you both took the time to respond
