Question A quick question on a possible SSD upgrade.

Hey.

So I was thinking about getting a SSD until I realized that I won't be able to transfer all of my data (about 600 gb) onto it (as I'm eyeing a 240 gb SSD).
My question is, if I were to transfer only the OS partition to the SSD, would I have to install my motherboard. video card, etc. drivers again?
I'm planning on using Aomei partition assistant if that makes a difference.

Is your HDD partitioned with separate data partition ? To do what you propose would be possible only if all system partitions including C: are substantially smaller than SSD. In your case, less than 200GB.

Ah I see. So am I stuck with installing a fresh copy of windows on the SSD? I don't think I could get my storage to less than 200 gb.

It's better that way. Once you install OS you can delete all system partition from old disk and use it for data.
