A Required device isn't connected or can't be accessed - Error code 0xc000000f

I had this error come up when I turned on my computer the other day. I inserted my 8.1 installation disk and used the 'startup repair' tool to see if that fixed the problem, but had no luck with that. I used command prompt to try and rebuild the bcd, but after it had scanned it came up with '0 identified windows installations'.

If this has happened to anyone before and successfully resolved the problem please tell me what you did!

No I haven't touched them.

Do you have a flash or external drive plugged into one of the usb ports? If so try unplugging those and see if you computer boots.
I would double check sata mode in the bios and post what it is currently set at. It could be set to IDE, AHCI or RAID.
