I brought a desktop gaming pc last year that was custom built. A few months ago I upgraded the graphics card of my system to an AMD Radeon hd 7770 oc edition by Gigabyte.
Not long after this I had trouble playing some games I purchased during the steam sale, whenever I went to launch certain games it would crash my computer; sometimes it would just straight up restart other times I would get a blue screen.
I tried my old card and still got the same results when trying to launch these games. So it obviously was not the card causing the problem.
As I am not the most confident when it comes to trying to fix this kind of problem I left it after attemptig every fix I could find online that didnt consist of opening my system up and fiddling with hardware.
Then my computer started crashing sometimes randomly, this was just a restart or a full on power down. I never got a blue screen without trying to launch a specific game.
This problem began occuring more and more often and is now at the point where it will often restart during the bootup sequence, or a message on my monitor will read 'no input signal' and my computer will keep running without restarting.
Sometimes I can get past the boot up sequence and log onto my account, but it will crash after a while without a doubt.
Ive spent hours reading turorials on how to fix it and trying to do so myself. Ive made several posts on the tomshardware forums about it and had no luck fixing the issue.
Ive tried to use a different and no graphics card as stated but still ran into the problem, I've also tried other hard drives thinking it could be my copy of windows having a corrupt boot file that was preventing it from booting up but always run into the 'no input signal' problem.
So now I am at a loss, I have these three crashes that are preventing me from using my computer and causing me a lot of stress, so any help would be appreciated.
System Specs:
AMD Bulldozer quad core 4100 processor
8GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7770 oc Gigabyte edition
500 watt PSU
1TB HDD (running a cracked version of windows 7 I should add)
