How do i fix my HDD? i dont know what is the real cause of its decreasing health and i dont even know if the health report is legit or not cuz I can still use my hdd

here's the screenshot

how do i increase its health? even a slight increase would be amazing

all HDD's eventually get bad sectors , even SSD's has some similar issues they don't perform forever , i bought two japanese toshiba 6 tb hard drives recently and one is starting to catch bad sectors if i'm not mistaken. buy a better quality HDD or move entirely to an SSD if your budget permits.

Windows has its own disc health tools, try them as well but that's a lot of bad sectors.

If Windows shows the drive to be in a similar state of poor health, you need to replace that drive as soon as possible, I mean really, really urgently, even if it means paying a few dollars more by purchasing locally.
If the next sector to go bad is part of the OS install there's a better than even chance you'll effectively lose the entire drive contents.

I tried the windows check error in properties, No error at all
I tried the cmd + wmic + diskdrive get status, Status OK!

but when I hdd sentinel and its 6% 🙁 , they both report differently so maybe I was hoping I can still fix it

my budget is soo bad, im even looking for 2nd hand hdd and downgrade to 500gb only 🙁

thats why im hoping to atleast increase its health so i can sell it and buy a new one with atleast 500gb only

Unless you have a very specific hard drive problem like a problem with the PCB (which would essentially end with you buying a new hard drive anyway), you can no more fix a truly dying hard drive than fix burnt toast. And you sure as sugar shouldn't be trying to sell a hard drive that's failing, you'd essentially be defrauding the buyer unless you disclose the hard drive is failing (in which case the cardboard box it's shipped in would be far more valuable to a buyer).

to tell you, selling with this is kind of ok in our country. they even looking for a cheaper one than a brandnew that cost 5x

though i want to increase health so they can use it more but i guess I dont have a choice

they can make it as external Harddisk for storage only, thats one of my buyers plan

You can't use a broken hard drive for anything but a paperweight. I find it hard to believe that in your country, selling broken things to people with the suggestion that it's not broken, is "kind of ok." And even if it is, these kinds of ethics are pretty disgusting and I won't be a party to that, so I'm out of this thread.

sorry to hear that , there's always the ebay , we don't have that here
