Jus got my trayd 10700k, and I noticed they put a cd sticker at the bottom of my cpu, covering the transistors.

It seems that if I put it on my Mobo it might turn on as it doesn't cover any of the contact pads, but please help me rest assured this isn't a fire hazard for my cpu..

From the picture, it's touching a bit of the contact pads.
The sticker won't be a problem if it doesn't cover any of the contact pads completely and the pins in the socket are still able to make contact... if it does cover some pads completely that definitely won't start a "fire", but it may just render your system not POSTing, memory channels missing, etc.

Is it mandatory to leave the sticker on? Some sort of warranty?

If you bought that at a local store take it back and show them.

Intel don't ship them like that.
