A strange bar popped out on the desktop and I cant remove it

I tried to change my computer resolution and the windows xp window sidebar popped out on my left screen, it's huge and has pushed my screen to the right side, I tried changing the resolution back but it didn't change back, can't destroy it in any way, please help fast

I'm talking about the half blue huge bar on the left side of the screen, my computer now thinks that the desktop is a "folder", because on windows xp that is folder sidebar....I want to remove it

See it's a folder sidebar...

Right-click on the taskbar (where the start button is) and see what is checked off in Toolbars, you probably have one enabled and it got moved.

Right-click on the task bar (where the start button is) and see what is checked off in Toolbars, you probably have one enabled and it got moved.

The only things enabled were "quick launch" and the "language bar", but I noticed something very interesting, I unchecked everything and when I clicked on the blue thing in the left screen side the things that were unchecked earlier "quick launch" and "language bar" came back, when I click anywhere else (not on the blue thing on the left) the quick launch and language bar would disappear as they're unchecked...So is my Operating system broken or something?
