Hello.
I've got a used Sapphire Platinum RX470 4GB over AliExpress* and the package arrived after one month, today.
I ran the GPU without doing cleaning to see if it works in the first place, and it did. Hovever there was this BIOS splash screen completely messed up. After the BIOS part everything just worked fine so I just removed the GPU and did some cleaning. After I was done the problem with the BIOS splash screen was still there but Driver and everything worked just fine.
During 3D MAX 06 benchmark test the GPU driver failed and I had to reboot my system. After rebooting the screen went off and the fan speed ramped up to %100 for 5 seconds. Afterwards I tried to do the benchamrk again and It just completed the benchmark flawlessly. Its been 5-6 hours and I didnt had any fails other than the last fail.
The screwed up BIOS splash screen really doesnt prevent me using my PC at all, but I have this feeling telling me "something is wrong, you have to do something right now"
After some research I found a two different solutions It may work. The first one being Installing the original updated GPU BIOS from internet to my GPU, and the second being is baking my GPU.
I don't know if the baking will work but I found a BIOS** and compared it to the BIOS came with this GPU
There are some differences between them and I can't tell If it is a good thing or a bad thing. (Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/t4n34i)
Please give me advice on how can I fix this small issue. I am sure this small issue will grow and eventually kill my GPU.
SYSTEM:
-Intel Xeon E5405 (huge bottleneck ik ;-; )
-6GB DDR3 RAM
-ASUS P5G41C-M LX Motherboard (Tested it with a different mobo. Interestingly the screwed BIOS splash screen thıng happened in this different mobo too!)
-Nagas 80+ Bronze 350W PSU (Tested it with 400W PSU.)
