A streaming question

I am pretty sure this isnt the correct category, but when using a dual PC streaming setup does this basically make your gaming pc run as it would if you weren't streaming since the streaming pc handles part of the load as well?

The streaming pc is doing the brunt of he workload. The receiving end merely decodes and displays the stream while sending the mouse, keybd,controller feed back.
