Theoretically, if there is dirt, wear, moisture, bacteria or rusting to the connecting points of the USB hard drives, which could be the USB cable or the ports on the hard drive, could it lead to a higher probability of
transferring error data during the process?? Or does USB work in such a way that it is not affected by such environmental conditions??

if you are in an environment with sawdust, etc., flying around, use the dust caps... (otherwise, I don't actually bother with them personally)
