a type of USB pen???

is there a type of usb pen for the pc yet? maybe if i could press a button to tell it write and disable that button when i dont.

All kinds of handheld writing devices for PC. Depends on what you want to do with it how much you need to spend.

Writing to text conversion is a lot more commonly accessible on tablets these days. Though I am sure Wacom would oblige you for a few hundred dollars. Might look into a Microsoft Surface or IPad or android tablet as an alternative.
