Hi what card would be best for an i3 2120/4gb ram 400 watt PSU.

I was looking at a 660ti for £50 as it's better than the rx460/750ti (I think) at a £100 bracket that I was looking at so used is best.

What other GFX cards would you recommend in the £50 used bracket? The 7850 is around £50 but not sure on if it's better/same than the 660ti.

Hi thanks for the reply, It currently doesn't have a GPU I picked it up cheap on eBay.

I know it's not going to set the world alight for gaming but it should be ample for some light gaming.

What other card that is used would be around the rx 460/750 ti/950 gtx quality as I don't really want to spend more than £50.

As I understand the i3 2120 would avoid a bottleneck with a 950 gtx and no higher?

Yeah RX 460 or GTX 950 is as high as you would wanna go. Your standard 400W power supply will limit your choice of older cards, leaving you with something less than a 750 Ti. I recommend saving up for the 750 Ti or RX 460 because they don't require a power connector. Btw, does your power supply have a 6-pin PCIE power connector?

If you can find a GTX570 on ebay for $50 or so, that would be your best bet if your power supply is good enough.

Get the 750ti over the 950. If you're considering the 950, just get the RX460. Similar cost, better performance.

I keep seeing this "RX 460 is faster than GTX 950"; but from what I'm seeing it's only faster in like 2 or 3 AMD favored titles. Why do you (among others) say it's faster? Just earlier I found someone giving a benchmark that was using a low powered GTX 950 as a comparison to the RX 460.

Beefy power delivery on some of the RX460's allows better overclocking headroom compared to many of the GTX950's that had mostly inferior power delivery components. I overclock the living crap out of anything I can get my hands on, so my performance standards are skewed in that direction when on a budget (more performance to price anyway).

I still think a GTX570 for $50 is way better performance per dollar than either of the new low-end GPU's. If not, a 750ti. That i3 might sorely disappoint if you strapped a more powerful graphics card to it. It's like strapping a NA K20A to a beefy Tremec and one ton axles.

Yeah but GTX 570 requires much more power and isn't a viable choice to put in a pre-built computer with the stock power supply.

I just did a search, and found a 650ti Boost for $33 or less, currently on ebay.
:p

Edit: wasn't paying attention, 650ti non-boost $59.95 buy it now price, new old stock, free shipping. There are a few others currently listed for $70~ish.

Not sure the desktop hasn't arrived yet waiting on delivery... If not would a 6 pin adapter not work?

Can source a 7850 for £40, 650ti/660ti £50, 750ti £80, RX 460 new £100.
