Firstly I am a major noob so forgive me if this question has been asked but I've been looking on the forum and via the internet and I still haven't found a solution!

I built my computer in a way that windows is being run by a 60 gb SSD (along with Photoshop and Illustrator) and a Tb drive that is my primary storage for movies, and music and such. The only downside to this is that when I go to save something it always is puts it into the native "downloads folder" for instance. I find after time this uses up my ssd space and I always end up manually transferring the file to another folder I've created on my terabyte.

So is there a way to actually change the path of those native windows folders to a spot on the regular HD?

Again if this topic is beat to death in another thread on the forum I am terribly sorry and apologize but if not please help!

Thank you! 😀

I know you can change the directory of those folders by right clicking on them going to Properties and checking the Location tab, you can change the location of most of those folders (music, movies, videos, downloads, etc...) or you can do what I did. I moved the Users, Program Files, Program Files (x86) and ProgramData to a separate HDD so I can clear up more space on my SSD. http://lifehacker.com/5467758/move-the-users-directory-in-windows-7 there is how I did it, just make sure to move all folders in one shot if you are going too, since Windows Recovery can and will give one drive different drive letters each time you start it up.

I've read how it can be dangerous or how it will mess up windows, but as of now (about 1.5 months since I moved them) Windows is running perfectly with absolutely no problems at all.

What is your browser? U should leave only the system files and the install files and your page file on your SSD.
