A10 6700 no video output

I have a AMD a10 6700 that I'm hoping to salvage from a hp envy desktop. The hp seems completely dead based on the trouble shooting I've performed. (Bread boarded etc)
Got a different Mobo a gigabyte ga-f2a54-hd2 put the CPU into that board and saw a glimmer of hope as the board did power the CPU cooler fan. But no video output. I don't have a PC speaker to find out if there are beep codes. Being that I've tried the CPU in to boards now should I consider it junk or are there other suggestions for further testing?

More likely a defective CPU. An internal speaker would help, indeed, but I guess that it would tell you the same.

Debating picking up a different CPU but my budget is super tight. And I really want a quad core in the machine. May have to settle for a dual core to test the mobos again.

Low cost fm2 quads are hard to come by atm. Thoughts on where I could source one?

Take also into account that some require an updated BIOS. Like the 6700. So, it might be that it's not the CPU, but the BIOS.
