Hello, I have a A-10 7700k with a 750ti and I managed to overclock it up to 4.4Ghz, never tried any further, on prime 95 it reaches 12°C Thermal margin, that I guess that when it reaches 0°C my computer either turns off, underclocks and undervolts or my cpu melts.

So, how is 4.4Ghz possible on a stock cooler? Default is 3.4Ghz

Can I go any further, is this dangerous? thanks!

Interesting, you must have decent case cooling as well. As long as the temps stay where they are I would say you're safe. monitor them closely though to be sure.

As you get to 0 it will underclock and then eventually shut down yes.

As for how it can do it, do you have the Wraith cooler? Its pretty good.

That processor is low TDP so it doesn't surprise me that it can handle that kind of overclock on that cooler.

They don't but in that CPU's case its not extreme overclocking. It turbos to 3.8 stock, and the Wraith cooler which comes with many of these it cools very well. Coupled with a low tdp, its not impossible.

That said it is preferable to run the temp a bit lower, hence an aftermarket cooler would be better.
