a3 printing

i posted earlier about the 6500. the feedback here was that the 5 picolitre
droplet size coupled with the low resolution was not good enough. i
currently have an i850. I haven't seen a a3 pixma. the only a3 canon in
current production is the i9950 (i9900 in america) is this correct? I find
the i850 colour accurracy and sharpness adequate. i doubt if i have the
skill to notice the difference between the 6 and 8 colours. maybe not even
the 4. running costs isn't a problem as www.choicestationery.com do each
cartridge for £2.78 each.

i would probably buy the 3 year extended warranty too. Considering the
purchase price of £450 another £50 or so for print head peace of mind and
plenty of cheap ink to claw back the money. i'll keep one genuine set in
case of problems though.


Any users out there that can vouch for any of the a3 i series printers?

I have the i9950 (in Australia) and use only Canon ink and paper because it's
the only way to guarantee the best print life. The prints are fantastic!

Cost $850 in Australia. That's only 354 pounds. You guys really get the short
end of the stick.

not unless minimum wage is $9 per hour

I was also looking for i9100. 6 colours should be good enough as i'm used
to only for with my i850.

Except the resolution of the i9100 is probably less, and it probably prints
slower too.
