Lately i was infected with overclocking virus so i bought a new comp. It has amd a64 3000+ O/c to 2.02 ghz so it is a 3200+. So like every other overclocker 🙂lol:) i want more but it cant go above the 9x225. is memory the reason. will it go faster with sock cooler and geil one ddr600(now i have a corsair ddr400 o/c 216mhz 2.5 latency) and with motherboard DFI lan party nforce4 ultra(now MSi k8n neo4 FI). Would it payoff? Help me pppppppppplllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssseeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! I am desperate.

Hi. I also have an AMD 3000+ Venice but I managed to OC it to 2400 MHz (like a 3800+). After setting the clock speed to 266 (from 200) I lowered the RAM speed from 400MHz to 333 MHz. It sounds slow, but RAM speed depends on the multiplied CPU speed, not clock speed. I also lowered the HTT multiplier from X5 to X4. Now my system speeds are:
CPU: 2400 MHz - was 1800
RAM: 218 Mhz (2400 / 11 - the DDR-333 setting on the 3000+) - was 200
HTT: 1064 - was 1000

Now the system is rock solid and runs like a dream!
AMD 3000+ (@2400 MHz)
Abit AV8 3rd-Eye
1 Gb Geil 2.5-3-3-8 RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
WD 160GB SATA HDD
Tagan 420W PSU (22A)

Now I just need Nvidia to come out with an AGP version of the 7800GTX and I'm all set! 🙂

Just knock your RAM down. I personally only dealt with the 3200+, although I'm not sure if there's much of a difference there in terms of OCing, but what i believe it was @ (this is a few months ago) ~2.5g. Voltage on ram was upped a bit, didn't mess with the voltage on the processor.
