Hey guys :)

I have an 860K and i want to oc it 4.4+ Ghz. with near 1.45V
I'll buy an 120 TDP cpu cooler and extra exhaust fan for better airflow.
I did a little research about my mobo and its not very OC friendly becouse of VRM's has no cooling. I want to place some heatsinks for the VRM's but im not sure wich ones are the VRM's ?

I wonder if you guys could mark them for me on the image 😀

The 6 black squares behind the chokes labeled SFC are what you want to cool. The capacitors are in the way so finding a heatsink that will fit is going to be difficult, you would likely have to use several small heatsinks. Even then that looks like a rather weak 3+2 phase board, it wont be ideal for overclocking with or without heatsinks.

Unfortunately I know my motherboard is not very good for overclocking 🙁
Instead of buying a new motherboard for my CPU, it makes more sense to go through a complete system update. But I want to take advantage of this little demon as much as I can to save my money to build a new system :)

In fact, I used this processor for about a week in automatic voltage at 4.4Ghz. Maybe with better cooling & airflow it will be stable and cool. What about little fans for VRM's ? (I know the image is an HDD fan)

I wonder something like that helps a bit 😀

If I was in your place I wouldn't bother with heatsinks and just rig up a fan so blows air down onto the VRM. If you plan to upgrade soon and aren't concerned with damaging that mobo, go ahead and push it. Though 1.45v is likely excessive for 4.4ghz. Is it unstable at that voltage? What are CPU temps getting up to under load?

I never tried to set the voltage manually. But when i check with cpu-z under load it wandering around 1.43V - 1.46V at 4.3Ghz. I Think i need to mod my bios for that. I'll think about it after i get the cooler :)

Im not sure about the exact temps. But the Thermal Margin values did not go below 10 degrees under heavy gaming load. Idle Thermal Margin values usually 35C to 50C.

+ Right now my case has terrible airflow. Just one in-take and PSU fan for the exhaust. I'll buy 2x 12Cm case fans. One for the side and one for the exhaust.

I'll get paid in like 4 days then i'll order everything. If you have any other part suggestions bring it on 😀

Go faster for a Ryzen build. Ryzen craves clock speed more than I crave beer and not exercising enough.

"Budget" 🙁

The least expensive DDR4-2400 2x16 at PCPartPIcker right now is $84.89. The cheapest DD4-2800 2x16 is $89.99. The cheapest DDR4-3000 $94.99. I'd want to eke out that last 3-5% of performance, especially on productivity apps, when it only costs $5-$10.

Thank you for the information :)
But unfortunately in Turkey, the prices are not like this. Sadly because of the economical difficulties we are having. I earn 350$ for a month and with the expenses I'll only have 115$ for me.
Cheapest 8gb 3000mhz ram listed in my country is 65$. So I have to be patient and upgrade my PC slowly with whatever I can afford.

I am doing 3D modeling as a hobby and 16gb ram + ryzen 2600 will be a monstrous upgrade for my productivity
