A7A 266 HSF????

I want to get a new HSF for my mobo but I have read that both the Swiftech MC462-A and the Alpha 8045 will not fit on my board so I have no idea what to get or even if this is true if anybody has questions or answers I would appriciate it!!!

My signature really sucks.

You are correct. Neither of those will fit on the Asus A7A 266.

Or he can get the Thermalright SK6 and a 5000RPM fan, which is cheaper and provides more than adequate cooling!

The MCX will fit, I believe. I was referring only to the MC-462, not MCX.

Yes, but the SK6 is cheaper than both and provides the best bang for the buck, IMO. The Swiftech ones may be better but they're significantly more expensive. Too expensive for a cooler, IMO.
