I'm about to put together my PC and I have the Asus A7M266 and want to put a 1.4ghz Athlon in it. The documentation only talks about 1.2ghz. Will the motherboard automatically detect a 1.4ghz cpu?

I haven't tested it myself, but what I've heard on forums is that it will properly detect the 1.4 GHZ Athlon if you have the 1.004a BIOS installed. That seems to be the biggest thing you need to do.

It should.
But if it detects it as 1050mhz, you need to set the FSB to 133mhz.
