Hi
I know its an old mobo but I have aquired a pavilion7909 for free and will
use it for the kids the only thing is the power supply is dead, it is not
the usual size, I have put an old one of mine in but it has not got the lead
with 3 pins that feeds the PS FAN, where can I download the mobo manual, I
have tried the Asus web site but it says it does recognise this board

I'd bet that your looking for is the A7V-M manual with the optional LAN
(L). See if this fits the bill:
