I have the a7v(1004c) and am unable to get the freakin thing to recognize promise 100. I installed the newest drivers but w2k just dies on bootup upon the restart. Does w2k have to be installed at a certain sector of the hard drive, because I have the partition installed after the first 1.5 Gigs. I also tried a clean install and feed the drivers manulau to the OS, it asked my for them recognised them, but would not detect my hard drive under no circumstances. Does anyone have any recomendations as to the exact procedure for a successful install? Thank You in advance

AS you motherboard manual will tell you
you HAVE to use the regular controller until win2k is installed, then after you install the promise drivers in WIN2k, you can move the drive over to the promise controller
as i have a udma-66 drive i just left it on the regular controller

I had the same prob w/ my A7V. I found you have to do a fresh install for the 100 to work properly. Pull down the latest drivers for your promise card from ASUS and put them on a floppy. When you start win2k setup, hit F6 and you're off to the races.
