A8-3850 and HD6950

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here. I also just put my first build together. I thought I had researched and was being super smart saving money, but no dice.

My build
A8-3850
Gigabyte A75-UD4H
GSkill 8gb sniper ddr3-1866
Xfx HD6670
Corsair enthusiast tx650
WD caviar black 1tb
Win 7 64 pro

The good:
So I'm up and running in crossfire with APU and GPU. World of Warcraft runs on High with mostly 60 FPS everywhere, so that's great.

The bad:
Micro-shuttering. I have a 3 year old laptop with a t8400 CPU and 256 mb dedicated mem GPU that doesn't run at the same high setting, but is so much easier on the eyes.


So on to my question (and sorry this got so long), if I buy a high end card, like the 6950 or even the 6870, and ditch Xfire altogether, will this CPU keep up? I've read on bottlenecking and I'm guessing that this CPU will be experience this. I would really love to just ditch this whole CPU/MB/GPU and go x4 965 BE, but that's not an option right now.

My ultimate goal is to be able to run the upcoming swtor with graphics as high as possible. Is this going to be a lost cause?
