I just bought the R7 250 DDR3 2gb. I already have an APU Trinity pc. It comes with the HD7560D video and is not suitable for my needs. Can I add my R7 250 without disabling the integrated video card in BIOS?

Hello!

Yes, you should be able to do this as long as you plug in your display output into the GPU instead of the motherboard. I'd still advice that you do disable the integrated graphics as it would be unnecessary to have them enabled seeing that these two GPU's aren't compatible with each other.

Hope this was of some help!

Hello, thank you for replying. The GPU worked as soon as I connected it into the PCI-e x16. I connected my monitor to the GPU and installed the drivers from the included CD. However, when I play graphics-demanding games like witcher 3 for a while, my asus motherboard triggers an anti power surge and shuts down my computer. I monitored my gpu and cpu temperature using OpenHardwareMonitor and it's below critical temps. My gpu temp gets to about 50-60°C and cpu to about 40-50°C when gaming which is quite low; GPU temp is 40°C on idle and the CPU temp about 20-30°C. I've then ran some troubleshooting by cleaning the gpu and cpu heatsink and fan, yet it still turns off when gaming. Then I disconnect and reconnected the RAM, 24pin ATX power, 4 pin molex power and now it seemed to work and pc doesn't turn off when gaming for an hour, yet I'm not so sure if this fixed it.

Will disabling the integrated graphics card boost the pc's performance or lower power consumption? What are the pros and cons of disabling the integrated graphics card?

Thank you.

edit: Also, the monitoring program reported a constant 750000 RPM gpu fan which is impossibly high, is this a concern?

Yes, the issue was most likely a power connector that was not properly plugged in all the way, as I myself have experienced this before.

While I'm sure disabling the integrated graphics or keeping them enabled won't make a difference, I'd still disable it in the BIOS because you have the option, so might as well, seeing that it won't be utilized anyways.

Hope this was of some help!
