a8 quad core or intel i3 4th gen

Solution
at the end of the day it is all about opinion and what you are going to use it for, if it is more of a day-t-day running laptop then go for the i3, this will save you oney on power usage and the i3 can handle low-end gaming in laptop form.
If it is for ligh-medium gaming and general usage then the AMD will offer better performance when running multiple programs at the same time.

This is all i will say as it is mainly based on opinion as to whether you get the AMD or i3. also people dont start an AMD vs Intel war

I'd suggest to get other brand, HP's get very hot and fans are really noisy. I'd go for the i3 consumes less power which can save your battery, and has more features like hyperthreading or turbo boost

Are we talking about an i3 or i5? the link that you posted is for an i5
