A88X-PRO wont power up

Following my PSU going bang last week, i have been unable to power up my PC.
I have swapped (like for like) the MB and CPU.
I'm starting to think it might be a problem with the wiring in the case...maybe the PWRSW cable?

As I haven't got a spare case floating around, is there a way to make the MB think I've switched on the power button without using the case cabling?

one thing I may not have made clear is the first thing I did was swap out my PSU - and I've been having trouble since.

Am I right in assuming all I need connected to my MB is 1 stick RAM, the CPU and the PSU to get to a POST?

The MB starts and then almost instantly turns off again.
