A8N32-SLI 8 phase power?

I’m looking at an A8N32-SLI. One of the features that caught my eye is 8 phase power design. I can’t find much info on this feature, but what I think I do know is that if affects the cpu. Does 8phase mean it will run cooler, more stable? If anyone knows of any links that could provide more info on 8 phase power for motherboards it would be greatly appreciated.

I have owned the A8N32-SLI MB for some time now. Socket 939 is about to be retired. With socket 939 you are limited to DDR memory when DDR2 is the current standard. The A8N32-SLI does have two 16x SLI slots, a feature few 939 MB's have. The 8 phase power rgulation is discused briefly here:

I am aware of the outdated aspect of this board and what it supports. I am only looking at it because my current mobo is pretty useless and I belive is failing. I dont have the money right now to do a complete upgrade so im just going to replace the mobo. Im saving a new better mobo, proc, and mem for later maybe 4Q. However, from that link if 8 phase power can make a cpu run 15c cooler then that is amazing! Looks like ocing my proc might be a possibility after all with this mobo. Maybe I could hold off even longer on upgrading.
 
I have the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium and the MSI K8N-NEO Platinum SLI 939 MB's also. The A8N32-SLI is superior to both, especially when the 2 x 16 PCI-E slots comes into play. My son games on the A8N32-SLI every day and with two 7800 GT's the quality of the video is superb. One of the very best 939 boards still available for sure.

I thought about maybe selling my evga 7800 gtx on ebay since they are selling for soo much and then spending not much more on getting a 8800 gts. I could then buy another 8800gts for sli when it comes time to upgrade because of there affordable price = ).
 
That $139 price is a great price. I paid $149 late last year. When the A8N32-SLI first came out on Newegg it sold out immediately on more than one occasion. People were watching for it to come back for sale and checking for it by the hour! I know Newegg sold tons of them for $299.! I seem to remember the price being $329 to $349 right at first!
 
I switched to this MB from a Asus A8N-E and what a difference it made. It OC's higher with less volts. The A8N-E took a lot of volts to get to 2.6. Seams that the 32 SLI didnt need as much to get there..I do think the 8 phase power has a great deal to do with this. I also steped up on a new PSU and that is also a contributing factor with stable OCin. Anyway Get the A8N32 SLI you cant go wrong best MB I've ever used!
 
the 8 phase power made its debut on the Asus P5N32 board (socket 775)that AT reviewed about a year and a half ago. one of the most enthusiastic reviews i've ever seen. it sounded like the 8 phase power made the board that much more stable and overclock-able.

then it became a numbers game. Gigabyte came out with 12-phase power.
 
Well I’ve had the motherboard for about a week now. I’m trying to OC the processor. I have a amd x2 4800+ 2.4ghz. I can get it to 2.6ghz easy but as soon as I go to 2.7 it crashes. Now I’m thinking I’m not doing something right because this board is supposed to be good at ocing and having stability and whatnot. People tell me I should be able to get to 2.9. Someone also suggested that I turn the memory multiplier down. I cant find that setting anywhere in the bois. Anyone with this board know where to do that?
 
First you have to set your memory setings to manual...then find the section were it sets the memory to 200..166..133....set it to 166 to start with. Download CPUZ give us some screne shots of that and will go from there...Just need more info to help!
 
Unfortunatly I couldnt find any settings anywhere that had those numbers... and my camera is busted so i cant take pictures of the bios. But I took a screen of my cpuz. Hope this can help...
