Question AB350 PRO 4 wont boot with 200GE after BIOS flash

Hey there,

So the build works just fine with Ryzen 5 1600X, i have update the BIOS, but the 200GE wont boot.
I have the same build next to it with 200GE working, but the mobo version is rev. 1.03 other than 1.02 that wont work.

Any ideas? Thanks

Have you cleared the CMOS? Have you checked for any bent pins on the CPU?

None bent pins, ill check the CPU in the other build in a momment.
Ive tried getting the battery out and cleaing it with the pin, didnt help.

As rocktalkrock suggests clear CMOS to see if it helps.

Other than that, how did you update BIOS? Did you update to the bridge BIOSes before the later ones?

I went straight from 5.40 to 5.80

Doesnt 5.8 contain 5.7 ?

The CPU boots fine in the other PC, so its not faulty.

Are all the motherboard drivers updated?

So does that mean you updated the 'All in one' drivers the BIOS support page mentions? Also there's an additional link about display recovery too in the BIOS updates post-5.40

When you say the computer wont boot with the 200GE, what exactly happens? Does it got straight to BIOS or continually reboot?

Continually rebooting. Its works just fine on the ryzen 5 1600x, so i suppose the mobo is broken...

Guess ill just go get a ryzen 3 1200 and sell the 200GE, unless u have other ideas?

Check your memory. Try booting with just 1 stick of RAM in slot A2.

Ive tried, and as i said, it works fine with gen 1 cpu.

My only guess is that for some reason the BIOS did not update correctly. Can you remove the graphics card and boot with the 200GE onboard graphics?

Bios says its 5.8.
On the suport page it says it should work on 5.1, and on the BIOS page it says 5.7

I suppose rev 1.02 is just a nono for 2nd gen.
Rev 1.03 with preinstalled BIOS works great.
So if anyone is looking for cheap, good AM4 mobo Asrock AB350 PRO4 REV 1.03 is your call.

Works. Shouldve known that ryzen 3 is same price as 200ge...

200GE only requires P5.10 or later. You did not need a BIOS update.

Others ave reported similar problems. The problem is 100% in the bios itself.
