abit ab9 pro - no post

Odd that you managed to load XP OK if it won't POST.

Obvious steps are to check all connections (if need be do an out of the box to ensure no shorts) & minimise installed hardware untill you can update.
You do realise that if you are on 32-bit XP that you can't use all 4Gb as XP will reserve something like 1Gb?

Sorry should clarify. It did post a few times so i could install xp. Then when I restarted it wouldnt POST, no matter how many times I reset or turned on and off. And yea I know it only recognises 3.25gb, but its so that I dont have to buy more when Vista cmes out with support for 4gb. Ill try reseting the CMOS and see if that works, ill let you know how it goes.

sounds like something may have died then.
What codes is the POST LED showing?

Ok after CMOS reset I managed to POST and update BIOS, no problems then for a while but then last night it failed to POST again, only once, but still... this BIOS update is supposed to fix failed POST problems according to ABIT. I dont think anything has died or it would never POST or even turn on.
