abit as8 mobo code 9.f

I have a Abit As8 i865PE chipset motherboard 4 USB ports on the back (2 or 4 on the front of the case), the case comes with a LAN connector, a FIREWIRE port, DIGITAL sound card that supports up to 6.1 ch, 5 PCI slots, the sound card supports optical S/PDIF Input/Output and am getting a code sequence of 0.0, 8.3 9.6 9.e 9.f and my system won't turn on at all. I think it might be the power supply. Does anyone know a good power supply for this board that doesn't cost a fortune
I have Intel P4 3.4GHZ with 1MB L2 cache (16kB L1 cache) 550 socket 775
MSI 8x 128MB mx4000 w/ TV-OUT GeForce 4 video card
200GB hard drive Western digital Serial ATA150 with 8MB Cache
1 gig of ram

I had the same problem and codes. It was the bios. I got a new chip with the lastest update on ebay for around $10 , which included shipping, from bios*depot2009 .

I have same problem[post codes 8.3, 9.6, 9f and pc not boot] on other forum i read it only need turn off pc, put off baterry and power on pc and pc will go boot,in bios put back baterry and save.

Simple and it ill back to work.
